
Brent H. Maxwell, 67, of Burlington, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, at Azria Prairie Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Mediapolis. Born April 9, 1957, in Frankenthal, Blumenstrasse, Germany, he was the son of Gerald L. and Ruth K. Maxwell. He married Sarah M. Mellinger on March 31, 1984, in West Burlington.
He served in the Air Force.
Brent was an Engineer and a member of Union Baptist Church. His proudest accomplishment was writing the book "Muscatine Burlington Southern Railroad".
He is survived by his wife Sarah Maxwell of Burlington; son Brendan Maxwell of Mount Pleasant; daughter Michaela (Zack) Hull of Ankeny and his mother Ruth Hoffman of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28t at Union Baptist Church in Burlington where the family will receive friends. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. at Union Baptist Church. Pastor Marcus Timmons will officiate. Burial will follow in Keokuk National Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Union Baptist Church.
According to his wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
