A Grimes Elementary School fourth-grader won a brand new bicycle from the Burlington Fire Department through her artistic ability.
The fire department celebrated the nationally recognized Fire Prevention Week from Oct. 3 through 9, which included the return of the department’s annual poster contest.
Fourth graders across the school district were tasked to draw an original poster using this year’s theme of “Learn The Sounds of Safety.”
Grimes Elementary student Gabriella Mason placed first and was awarded the grand prize – a brand new bicycle donated by Bickel’s Cycling and Fitness. The posters were judged by Art Center of Burlington staff.
