Dave Charles Harris, 74, of Carman, Ill. died Friday, August 26, 2022, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born July 31, 1948, in Burlington, he was the son of Charles Henry and Mary Jane Abolt Harris.

He attended Notre Dame and later graduated from BHS. Dave had entered the United States Navy but was medically discharged prior to his graduation.

He was an Electronic Technician for D&R Amusement for 35 years.

Dave was of the Catholic Faith. He was a member of Ed's Cascade Fishing and Hunting Club (Big Island) since 1998 and Cascade Boating Association since 2003 where he enjoyed socializing with friends. He loved hunting, trapping, and fishing all year long. Dave and his daughter would go camping and fishing every summer. He loved spending time with his daughter and grandkids. He loved the Mississippi River and bought a cabin in 2001 on Big Island where he would live  8-9 months out of the year. Dave would come home right before the ice would form on the shores. He shared his love for the outdoors and the Mississippi River with his grandkids and son-in-law. Later in his life, Dave really enjoyed cooking meals for his family.

Survivors include his daughter, Tasha (Jared) Prickett of Burlington; two grandchildren, Alysa Lyn Prickett of Fort Madison and Ethan Jared Prickett of Burlington; three brothers, Harold (Kathleen) Harris of Glastonbury, Conn., John Harris of Burlington, and Tom (Michelle) Harris of Windsor, Conn.; and one sister, Carol (Tony) Orth of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandson, Isaiah Charles Prickett.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, September 2, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.

The memorial service for Dave will be 3 p.m. Friday, September 2, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with the Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held at St. John's Cafeteria following the service.
