
Pat L. Roth, 90, of Burlington, Iowa, passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, Saturday, June 6, 2026, at OakView Nursing and Rehabilitation in Burlington.
Born on February 25, 1936, in Zion, Illinois, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Eileen DeTienne. On October 24, 1952, she married Charles Roth. He preceded her in death on August 18, 1976.
Pat attended Zion Benton Township School. In her youth, she was very athletic and enjoyed many sports. In the years following, she found joy in bowling, flower gardening, flea markets, and antiquing. She truly loved her animals, especially cats and squirrels. Pat had a loving and giving heart and a huge, warm, loving smile for everyone who crossed her path. Pat worked various jobs throughout her life but found fulfillment in being an in-home health care aid for over 30 years.
In her final days she was uplifted by giving and receiving so much love and joy from the wonderful staff of the Oakview Nursing facility.
Most of all Pat loved being with her family.
She is survived by four children; Christine Roth of Hillsboro, Debra (John) Wiberg of Burlington, Michael Roth of Iowa City and Vicki (Jim) Shullaw of Burlington; seven grandchildren: Nicole Robbins, Laura (Justin) Stonerook, Andrea Carlson, Joshua (Margene) Shullaw, Stephanie Shullaw, Jennifer Roth and Ryan (Jennifer) Roth; twelve great grandchildren and two siblings: Linda Antcliff and Herbert DeTienne. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Lloyd DeTienne Sr. and beloved companion Bertha Richards; Eileen (Emil) Bure; husband Charles Roth; son Larry Roth; brother Lloyd DeTienne Jr.; and sisters-in-law Sally DeTienne and Shirley DeTienne.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in Aspen Grove Cemetery with Pastor Sam Fratt officiating.
