Jane A. Fletcher, 77, of West Burlington died Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Born June 29, 1945, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Laverne and Mildred Nelson Miller.

Jane graduated from Burlington High School. On Sept. 29, 1961, she married Michael “Mick” Fletcher in Burlington. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Ss Mary and Patrick Catholic Church.

Jane worked at Younkers and First National Bank. For many years she worked for the Burlington School District. Jane loved working with students diagnosed with severe and profound disabilities. She retired as a librarian for Blackhawk School.

Throughout her years, Jane participated in many state bowling tournaments in her early years. She also played in many bridge clubs, mostly three times a week. She loved playing bridge at the Senior Center. Jane was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan watching basketball and football. For many years Jane drove the family support vehicle for RAGBRAI and kept the family on track each day.

Survivors include her husband Mick of West Burlington, two daughters Beth (Greg) Goodman of Washington, and Tina Brumett of Loves Park, Ill.; one son Robert (Jan) Fletcher of Chesterfield, Mich.; eight grandchildren Christopher (Whitney), Tyler, Travis, Andelain, Aaron, Joshua (Ashlyn), Brock, Brittany (Benjamin); two great-grandchildren Finn and Richard “Ry”; two sisters Susan Wheeler of Cincinnati, Ohio and Judy Schroeder Knoll of Burlington; one brother Michael (Rhonda) Miller of West Burlington and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Linda Miller.

The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Friday, June 30, 2023, at Divine Mercy Parish, Ss Mary and Patrick Catholic Church with Reverend Michael Phillips as celebrant. Luncheon will follow at the church fellowship hall. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date.

A memorial has been established for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
