Wilma Deanne "Dee" Sherman, 84, of Burlington, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, at the Klein Center in West Burlington. Born Aug. 7, 1940, in Keokuk, she was the daughter of Ivan P. and Edna E. Fleming Roasa. On Jan. 8, 1961, she married Ralph Junior Sherman in Burlington. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2014. 

Dee worked for Surgeons Inc. for 25 years.

She was a member of West Burlington Christian Church and Women's Bible Prayer Study at Calvary Baptist Church.  She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, cooking, traveling, and feeding the birds. She cherished her time taking care of her grandkids and her dog, Maggie. She was an avid sports fan and faithfully cheered on the Cardinals, Packers, and Iowa men's basketball. She will be remembered as a very appreciative person who was always thankful. She was truly a gem.

Survivors include her three daughters, Lori (Les) Jannings of Burlington, Connie (Mike) Carter of West Burlington, and Becky (Shawn) Hay of Danville; six grandchildren, Justin Hill, Alyssa Jannings, Maren Jannings, Jake Carter, Ashly Strausbaugh, and Chey Hay; three great-grandchildren, Ari Jannings, Eva Walter, and Meyer Burns; one brother, Don Roasa of Burlington; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Sherman; two brothers, William "Bill" Roasa and Merlin Roasa; and two sisters, Ina Claire Schilling and Betty Jean Hale.

Visitation with the family to receive friends will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.

The funeral service for Mrs. Sherman will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street with Dean Robinson officiating.  Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice, West Burlington Christian Church, and the Klein Center.
