
Steven Christopher Phillips, 46, of Danville, born July 14, 1978, died of heart issues on Feb. 7, 2025.
Steven was the son of Joseph and Wanda Phillips of rural Danville. He graduated Danville Community High School in 1996, and attended SCC for two years on a scholarship. Growing up on a farm allowed Steven's imagination to run wild. He was constantly dreaming up new projects to build. He drove the tractor, baled hay, and rode horses and four wheelers with his best friends, Aric Webb, Curtis Doyle, and Mark Bell.
After high school, Steve moved to Cedar Rapids for a time before coming back home for a stint. It wouldn't take long and Steven would set his sights on South Carolina. He resided there for 20 years.
Steven loved being outdoors and was especially fond of spending time on his boat on any body of water he could travel to. Through all his travels and adventures, He never forgot his roots, nor his hometown of Danville, IA.
He is survived by his mother Wanda Phillips of Danville; sister Danica Wharton (husband-Jason, son-Ronin) of Burlington; two aunts- Retha Butler (Bill) of Morning Sun, and Jane Sommerfeld of New London; uncle, Ansel of Burlington; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Phillips.
Celebration of life /graveside gathering will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Long Creek Cemetery in rural Danville.
