H. Pauline Neff, 95, of Burlington, died on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born on Jan. 17, 1929, in Morning Sun, she was the daughter of Charley and Catherine Hewitt Jackson. On June 13, 1959, in Morning Sun, she married Wilbur Thomas Neff. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1983.

Pauline was a 1947 graduate of Morning Sun High School. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ Church. Pauline was very passionate about church and serving as a Sunday School teacher, where she taught for over 50 plus years. For twelve years she worked for Morning Sun Public School District as a secretary for the superintendent. She then worked for Boy Scouts of America and retired after twenty-three years of service. She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother for many years and was nominated for Woman of the Year through the Chamber of Commerce. Pauline loved reading books, especially Grace Livingston Hill novels. She also enjoyed crocheting, hand quilting and doing seamstress work. Pauline sewed many bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses over the years. Most of all Pauline loved being with her family.

She is survived by her four children: Randy (Barbara) Neff of Mount Pleasant, Lorna (Tom) Miller, Curtis (Cindy) Neff and Bernita (Rich) Adams all of Burlington; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilbur, four sisters Mary Varvel, Betty Keith, Barbara Shelman and Charolette Parkhurst and brother Dean Jackson.

A visitation for Pauline will be held at 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, at Lunning Chapel where the family will meet with friends.

A funeral service for Pauline will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Burlington with Pastor Dave Yonker officiating. Burial will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in her memory for First Christian Church Disciples of Christ.
