Virginia R. Overhake, 89, of Burlington, died Sunday, April 5, 2026, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington. Born August 4, 1936, she was the daughter of Chester and Lola Henthorn Freeman. She married Edward Overhake Sr. He preceded her in death.
Virginia worked as a waitress and a housekeeper. She was the long-time housekeeping manager for the Holiday Inn hotel in Burlington.
She was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church.
She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved to sew, play bingo and especially loved her church.
She is survived by her four children; Ed (Barb) Overhake Jr., Michael Overhake Sr., Wayne Overhake and Candy Kay Jape; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. According to her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
