Mr. Carl Edward Fisher Jr., 78, of Burlington, died Saturday, September 17, 2022, at his home.

Born May 17, 1944, in Arkansas, he was the son of Carl Edward and Glendean Gibson Fisher Sr. Carl married Jean Louise Trimble on May 19, 1963. She died August 5, 2004. He then married Beverly Ann Reed Ivey on March 20, 2010 in Burlington.

Carl was a high school graduate and he attended Southeastern Community College. He was a journeyman and a tool and tile maker for J.I. Case Company, Exide, and Lamont in Mt. Pleasant where he later retired. Carl enjoyed building whirley gig lawn ornaments, detailed painting and cutting, attending estate and garage sales, and collecting M&M, PEZ, and Camel Joe memorabilia.

He attended Four Square Gospel Church.

Survivors include his wife Beverly; two sons, Troy Edward Fisher of Mo., and Steven Scott (Janice) Fisher of New London; six grandchildren, Jason, TJ, Sean, Tesa, Amanda, and Jamie; four step-daughters, Lisa Ivey of Shoreview, Minn., Laura (Pierre) Chausse of Roan Mountain, Tenn., Tammy McConnell of Muscatine, and Sally Ann Talbott of Burlington; six step-grandchildren, Sammy Ivey, Jean-Pierre Chausse, Etienne Chausse, Lisette Chausse, Erica McConnell, and Jonathan McConnell; and two sisters, Sue Butler of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Grace Ciesielski of Crown Point, Ind..

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Jean, one sister, Jean, and a younger brother who died in childhood.

A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m., October 22 at Foursquare Gospel Church 200 Curran St, Burlington.

A memorial has been established for Shriners Hospitals for Children and Foursquare Gospel Church.
