Marie L. Weaver, 82, of Burlington, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born Sept. 24, 1940, in Keokuk, she was the daughter of Clarence R. and Doris Horchem Meeker. On Jan. 20, 1963, she married Warren "Bill" Weaver in Grace Methodist Church, Burlington.
Marie ran Marie's Needlework in downtown Burlington.
Marie was a former member of the Embroiderer's Guild. She was very passionate about needlework and created many pieces, including a stocking that hung on the Christmas Tree in the White House in 1999. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Warren "Bill" Weaver of Burlington; two sons, Timothy (Christina) Weaver and Andrew (Shannon) Weaver both of Burlington; one grandson, Cody Weaver; and one brother, Kenneth L. (Connie) Meeker.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 12 to 5 p.m. with the family to receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.
The funeral service for Mrs. Weaver will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street with Pastor Brenda Distelhorst officiating. Burial will be in Edwards Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Elliot Township to be used for the Edwards Cemetery Road Fund at PO Box 66 Oakville, IA 52646.
