Linda J. Rothlisberger, 80, of Burlington, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.

Born Dec. 28, 1943, in Washington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Lloyd Samuel and Blanche Louise Thomas Howsare.

Linda attended Cotter Elementary until 4th grade and then attended Winfield Schools graduating from Winfield High School in 1961. She earned her General Business degree from AIB in Des Moines in 1962 where she was a member of the Alph Iota Sorority.

She married Lynn Decker on Oct. 27, 1963, in Winfield. Of this union, two daughters were born, LuAnn and Lesa. On March 24, 2008, she married Raymond Rothlisberger in Monmouth, Ill.

After graduation, Linda worked at JI Case and JS Schramm and Company. She also worked at Farm Service Company in Danville as secretary to the general manager, Perl Van Hemert. The family moved to Danville and then to New London where she was a school bus driver for nine years and also the manager of the Mustang market and also served as secretary of the New London Presbyterian Church. When the Mustang Market closed, she worked for Voss Petroleum and then Capitol Federal Savings Bank. Linda was the office manager for Woodlands Treatment Center for 23 years, retiring on Oct. 30, 2013.

Survivors include her husband, Ray; one step son Brad (Daphne) Rothlisberger; one step grandson Jerrad Rothlisberger; three granddaughters Jennifer Lynn Clark (Tim) Devine, Alexandra Hamm and Amy Clark and two great granddaughters, Navy and Jade Devine.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, LuAnn; first husband, Lynn; parents Lloyd and Blanche and stepfather, Harold Wells.

Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.

A private family visitation will be held at a later date.

Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery Columbarium.

A memorial has been established for the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
