Paula Louise Anderson

Paula Louise Anderson, 90, of Burlington, died Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the Solon Care Center in Solon, Iowa.

Born December 6, 1935, in Haskins, Iowa, she was the daughter of Paul Leroy and Alberta M. (Farrington) Edwards. She married Leonard Anderson on April 14, 1956. He preceded her in death January 21, 2015.

Paula worked for 26 years in food service for the Burlington School System until her retirement in 1999. She was a very devoted member of Messiah Lutheran Church and was involved in Questers, and various Bridge Clubs in the area.

Paula was very creative and social as she very much enjoyed dancing, sewing, playing bridge, collecting antiques, and attending musical and artistic events in the area.

Every winter, for many years, until Leonard's death, they traveled to Texas with their dearest friends Verlyn and Sheila Westra, and Bob and Diane Mansheim.

Survivors include her three sons; Jeff (Debra) Anderson of Mason, Ohio, Bryan Anderson of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and Glenn (Alma) Anderson of Iowa City, Iowa; Sister Maralie Hoskins of Iowa City, Iowa, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents Paul and Alberta Edwards, Brother, Lyle Edwards, and Father and Mother-in-Law, John and Plommie Anderson.

The memorial funeral service for Paula will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11 at Messiah Lutheran Church. Pastor DaMisha McFarland-Pollock will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa.

According to her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
