
Pauline Rae Russell, 94, of West Burlington, died Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born on June 19, 1931, in Gladstone, Ill., she was the daughter of Paul and Dorothy Kissinger Rhoades. She married Robert Russell, and of that union they had four children. They later divorced.
Pauline was a graduate of Gladstone Oquawka High School. She worked for Burlington Medical Center in the Central Supply department for over 20 years, where she retired from. Pauline and her twin sister Paula enjoyed taking trips together down to Branson, Mo. Every morning, Pauline enjoyed going to the local diner for breakfast in Oquawka and meeting up with her friends. Most of all, Pauline loved nothing more than to be with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by two children: Ann Russell and John Russell both of Burlington; seven grandchildren: Tracy Hopkins, Jody Hopkins, Daniel (Melissa) Hopkins, Brady (Lindsay) McCoy, Jacey (Zach Shinberger) Russell, Amy (Jordan) McNally and Andrew Russell; six great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister Paula Bailey and sister Sherry Reid; two children: David Russell and Kathy Hopkins; son in-law Pat Hopkins, and grandson Aaron Russell.
The memorial service for Pauline will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, at Lunning Chapel with Pastor Roberta Robbins officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10 a.m., where the family will meet with friends. Burial will be held at a later date in Biggsville Cemetery in Biggsville, Ill.
A memorial has been established in her memory for the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center Home Health and Hospice.
