Kathy Yackshaw passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Burlington, surrounded by her family and the nurses who had cared for her during her time there.
She was born to William and Helen Reinhart on July 1, 1957 in Tuscola, Ill. Her childhood was filled with many fun days out on the farm with her siblings and cousins. She later moved to Clinton, where she graduated in 1975 from St. Mary’s High School and continued to live most of her life.
Kathy’s love for life was contagious and felt by all of those around her. Her strength and stubbornness kept her fighting until the very end. If you were fortunate to have known Kathy you never had to doubt if she loved you, her laugh and smile could fill any room. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
She is survived by her sisters Patty Reinhart of Clinton, and Jeanie (Reinhart) Hull of Boulder, Mont.; her ex-husband Mike Yackshaw of Clinton; and her daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Alex Danfelt (Yackshaw) of Liberty, Utah.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents (William and Helen Reinhart) and her brother (Larry Reinhart.)
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A celebration of life will take place this summer, Kathy’s favorite time of year. Details will be announced once everything has been planned.
