Larry W. "Stray Cat" Poole, 61, of Mount Sterling, died at 2:39 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at the Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born May 4, 1961, in Keokuk, he was the son of Edna Virginia Smith. He was married to Pamela Sue Eley. They later divorced.

He loved listening to music, being outdoors, fishing, and spending time with his grandkids. He always looked forward to talking with friends and drinking an ice cold beer and his Wild Turkey whiskey.

Survivors include one daughter, Angel Poole of Burlington; one son, Jeremiah (Brandie) Poole of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Keaton Rollins, Leah and Cayden Geno, Aubriana Young, Kolton Lange, Aaliah Wessels, and Lillian Poole; seven brothers, John Smith, Charlie Smith, Brad Smith, Roger Smith, Bill Smith, Bob Poole, and Ronnie Poole; two sisters, Virginia Glaha, and Linda Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, two&nbsp;grandchildren, Destinee Poole and Judah Wessels, and two&nbsp;brothers, Donnie Poole and Chad Smith.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
