Lois Schrock Wiegand passed away on Dec. 13, 2024, at the Klein Center. She was born on March 9, 1926, to Noah and Hattie Lanz Schrock at their home near Oakville, Iowa. She graduated from Huron High School.

At the age of 14, she was baptized (along with Joe Wiegand, her future husband) and was a member for 84 years of the Oakville Apostolic Christian Church and later the Burlington Apostolic Church. She married Joseph Wiegand on April 20, 1947. He passed away on November 20, 2011. They were blessed with three Children: Mary Jo and her husband Galen Metzger of Burlington, Jane and her husband Ron Schmidgall of Burlington, and Brian and his wife Cindy of Oakville.

Lois graduated from Southeastern Community College as an LPN, then went on to earn her RN. She was employed by Burlington Medical Center for 25 years. After retiring, she volunteered many years for Great River Hospice.

Other survivors besides her children are 4 sisters: Ada Banwart of Mediapolis, Dorothy Schrock, and Janet Beik of Burlington and Eleanor Knobloch of Morton, Illinois. 11 grandchildren: Janelle Ringger, Gayla Stoecker, Tricia Zaugg, Aaron, Brad and Curt Schmidgall, Natalie Kuntz, Ashley Stoltzfus, Natasha Rivero. Colt Wiegand, and Calista Wiegand. 32 Great Grandchildren and 11 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, 4 brothers: John, Bob, Edward, and Jim Schrock, 2 sisters: Alma and Anna.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16 at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 at the Burlington Apostolic Christian Church with visitation to be held from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery, rural Oakville.

Memorials have been established for the Burlington Apostolic Christian Church or to Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.
