Wilma Schau, 96, of Primrose, passed away Saturday Nov. 9, 2024, at River Valley Place Fort Madison.
She was born February 28, 1928, in the Donnellson vicinity. She was the daughter of Lester and Iola Bonn Lang. On April 11, 1948, she married Forrest Schau at the Zion United Church of Christ in Primrose. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2012.
Survivors include her daughter: Nancy (Bob) McCleary of New London; son: Leon (Barb) Schau of Primrose Iowa, and daughter: Rebecca (Stephen) Hassman of Primrose Iowa; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren: Julie (Josh) Shimken-Hassman and great-grandson: Luca; Christa (Jeff) Pietrzyk and great-grandsons: Tate, Rhet and Chase; Ben (April) Hassman and great-grandchildren: Payton, Bryer and Madison; Brian McCleary and great-grandchildren: Brice and Chloe; Hannah (Jared) Lupkes and great-grandchildren: Nora and Beau; Emma (Josh) Wade and great-grandchildren: Ben, Eleanor, and Wren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Wilma was a member of the Sharon Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 474 of Donnellson. Wilma enjoyed playing bridge, sewing, taking care of her family, and traveling. She most recently enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren.
As per her wishes her body has been entrusted to the crematory of Schmitz Funeral Home.
A family grave side service will be held at a later date at the Primrose Cemetery.
Schmitz Funeral Home of Donnellson is assisting the family with arrangements.
