Theresa Ann Greenup, 63, of Burlington, died Monday, September 28, 2026, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born February 21, 1963, in Burlington, she was the daughter of William H. and Ruby Mae Robinson Greenup.
Theresa was a 1981 graduate of Burlington High School. She devoted much of her life to caring for her mother and father, always putting the needs of her family before her own. After their passing, Theresa continued to share her love and caring spirit with her family, spending time babysitting and creating cherished memories with those she loved.
Family was the most important part of Theresa’s life and she enjoyed spending time with everyone. She enjoyed watching the news and talk shows, listening to music, dancing, and celebrating. Her love, kindness, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her sisters, Dorothy Stout of Minneapolis, MN, Kay Greenup of Burlington, Karen (Kevin McCoy) Downs of West Burlington, and Christy Greenup of Waco, TX; brother, William (Charyne) Greenup, Jr. of Round Rock, TX; special friend, Bertha Scott of Burlington; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, one sister, Ernestine Robinson, nephew, Chris Downs, and several aunts and uncles.
The funeral service for Mrs. Greenup will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 9, 2026, at Union Baptist Church Full Gospel Fellowship, with Pastor Marcus Timmons and Deacon Tim Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at Union Baptist following the burial.
A memorial has been established for Union Baptist.
