Rhoda B. Molter, 85, of Dallas City, Ill. died Saturday, June 15, 2024 at her home.
Rhoda was born Sept. 8, 1938, in Bradford, Ill., the daughter of Paul and Thelma Burrell Marsden. On July 24, 1966, she married Michael Molter at the First Christian Church in Dallas City. He survives.
Rhoda was raised and educated in Dallas City. She worked for many local factories, including Sheaffer Pen in Fort Madison and retired from Methode in Carthage in 1999. She could often be found quilting, making and enjoying her own wine, gardening, feeding hummingbirds, and spending time with her friends and family.
Besides her husband, survivors include two sons: Byron Newberry of Dallas City and John Molter of Moline, Ill.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren: five siblings: Lori Ray, Kirby Marsden, Linda Rettig, Mary Alice Krannenberg, and Gary Marsden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son: Gary Newberry on March 23, 2020, and four siblings: Marilyn McDermott, Nedra McKasson, George Marsden, and Mike Marsden.
Cremation has been entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Dallas City.
A Celebration of Rhoda’s Life will be held at a later date
