
Deborah Bond Murphy, 76, of West Burlington, died Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Addington Place in Burlington.
Born April 17, 1948, in Muscatine, she was the daughter of Richard and Sina Bond. She married Carl Lee Murphy on March 18, 1977. He preceded her in death on Sept.23, 2009.
She was a homemaker and a member of First United Church of Christ where she actively served with the kitchen ministry and the “Lunch at the Top” luncheons. She enjoyed all crafts, cross stitch, knitting and crochet; quite frankly there wasn’t a craft she didn’t attack. She made doll clothes for all of her grandkids and loved watching NCIS, listening to classic country music and spending time with her family and grandkids.
She is survived by her children; Melissa (Jerry), Amy and Nathaniel Murphy; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; best friend Debbie Bliesener; siblings Melvin (Shirley) Bond, Cheryl (Rex) McIntire, Vickie (Don) Collins and Ricky (Diana “Dee”) Bond and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Randy Henderson.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 10 at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends. The memorial funeral service for Debbie will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 11th at Lunning Chapel. Pastor JudyAnn Morse will officiate.
Memorials have been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice and Lewy Body Dementia Research.
According to her wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel. Burial will be held at a later date in New Boston, Ill.
