Cynthia “Cindy” Eaves, 74, of Burlington, Iowa, formerly of Dallas City, Illinois passed away Friday, January 30, 2026 at Addington Place of Burlington. Cindy was born June 27, 1951 in Fort Madison, the daughter of Oscar and Audrey Wilson Eaves.

Cindy was raised and educated in Dallas City. Following high school, she received her Bachelor’s Degree from Western Illinois University and, later her Master’s Degree. She taught music all of her life. She began her teaching career in Mt. Carroll, Illinois, before moving to Colchester, Illinois and, lastly Cindy finished her career at her Alma Mater in Dallas City.

Besides her love for music, she enjoyed crafting stained glass and especially loved her loyal golden retrievers.

Survivors include one brother: Vic (Pat) Eaves of Wever, Iowa; a special friend: Diane Callaway of Burlington; four nephews: Cory Eaves of New York; Jason Eaves of Fort Madison; Alex Eaves of Wever and Troy Eaves of Minneapolis and 13 great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, with Pastor Pat Allen-Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Harris Cemetery, near Dallas City.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for PAW Animal Shelter in Fort Madison.
