
Michele Marie "Mickey" Wilson, 74, of Gladstone, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, in her home.
Born Nov. 30, 1948, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Robert Everett and Idabelle Fahner Knotts. On Jan. 23, 1967, she married Joseph Dewayne "J.D." Wilson in Burlington.
Mickey attended Burlington High School and then attended Southeastern Community College
She worked as a waitress prior to becoming a housekeeper with Great River Medical Center. She retired after 25 years.
She was a member of the Woman's Auxiliary. Mickey liked to color, paint and play games on her phone. When she was younger she liked to travel with her husband. She enjoyed fishing and camping. Mickey and J.D. loved to host a fish fry every year for friends and family to enjoy everyone's company. Mickey especially loved her dog, Sadie.
Survivors include husband, J.D. Wilson; son, Robert Wilson; two daughters, Renee (James) Murphy and Mamie Sue (Kyle) Elliot; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Denise Lee Knotts and Michael (Nancy) Knotts; two sisters, Gisele (David) Hayslip and Sabrina (Randy) Warth.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division St.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Wilson will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division St., with Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz as the officiant. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the VFW following the burial.
A memorial has been established for ASPCA.
