Nadine Adele Hodges, 86, of Burlington, died Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born Sept. 21, 1938, in Exline, she was the daughter of Rex and Flossie Mikels Grindstaff. On January 8, 1955, she married Paul Hodges. 

Nadine loved being with her family.  She helped out her mom and stepdad, Flossie and Elmer Phillips, at the Blue Ribbon Tap in West Point before taking over ownership with her husband, Paul.  She also co-operated the Sportsman's Bar in Burlington with Paul.  She enjoyed being outside, whether it was fishing, metal detecting, gardening, hunting mushrooms or arrowheads.  She developed an appreciation for computers later in life, thrifting and selling items on eBay, and playing role-playing computer games with her grandchildren.  Nadine's kindness and spirit will continue on through all who love her.

Survivors include her children; Cynthia (Timothy) Padley, Timothy W. Hodges, Christina (Dennis) Parmeter, Catherine (Mike) Brown; brother, Carl Grindstaff; fourteen granchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Sadly, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; son, Michael Hodges; father Rex Grindstaff; mother Flossie and stepfather Elmer Phillips.

Nadine has chosen to donate her body to science to further the advancement of scientific research for future generations.

No visitation or services will be held.

Prugh Funeral Service is in care of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House or the American Cancer Society.
