Christian Adam Boley, 30, formerly of Burlington and most recently of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on November 28th, 2025, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born on November 24, 1995, in Fort Madison, he was the beloved son of Rosita Marie Cantu Boley and Daniel Mathies Boley.
A 2014 graduate of Burlington High School, Christian was known for his sharp mind, quick wit, and passion for gaming. Whether he was exploring new worlds on screen or connecting with friends online, gaming was where he found joy, challenge, and community.
Christian had recently moved to Cedar Rapids to pursue treatment, facing his illness with determination and quiet strength. Through every hardship, he never lost his dry humor, gentle spirit, or ability to make the people he loved feel seen, appreciated, and occasionally roasted — but always with love.
Those who knew him will remember him as a kind and gentle soul—someone who loved deeply, listened intently (sometimes to a fault), and showed up for the people he cared about. His generosity, warmth, and steady presence will be remembered always.
Christian is survived by his parents, Rosita and Daniel Boley; his sister, Sierra Woodall, and her husband, Colton; Aunt Amy Cantu, cousins Josh (Kassandra), Jensen, Jayden, Julian; Uncle Ken (Chris) Gregory; cousin Alex (Jessica) Gregory, family friend Adam Green (one of his namesakes) as well as many other loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his older brother, Dakotah; his aunt, Christina Cantu Martin (his other namesake); Aunts Penny Dill and Pam Belton, Uncles Scot and Mark Boley; his maternal grandparents Alex and Jody Cantu; his paternal grandparents John and Elaine Boley; and his beloved kitty, Snickers, who no doubt greeted him with the same loud meow that drove him nuts.
Visitation will be held at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, Iowa, on Monday, December 1, from 5 to 8 p.m..
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, December 2, at 10:00 a.m., also at Lunning Chapel. The family humbly requests guests wear black or red in honor of Christian's favorite colors (not required). Band t-shirts are also welcomed.
Cremation will follow the funeral service, with interment occurring at a later date.
A luncheon will be held at the Moose Lodge following Tuesday’s services. In Christian’s honor, his requested birthday meal will finally be served: enchiladas, a taco bar, sides and cookies, because even in passing, he deserves the last word on the menu.
He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched in person and virtually.
