James Keith "Jim" Gibson Jr., 68, of Burlington, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 8, 1958, in Burlington, he was the son of James Keith "Gibby" Gibson and Marian Jeanette Hitchings Gibson.
He graduated from Burlington Community High School in 1976. He attended Burlington Junior College and Indian Hills Community College. He then moved to northern Iowa living briefly in Charles City and then moving to Mason City.
Jim worked in the hotel industry as a front desk clerk and auditor. His last place of employment before retirement was at the Frank Lloyd Wright Historic Park Inn in Mason City.
He is survived by his mother, Jeannette of Burlington; his sister, Tami Clark of Burlington; his brother, Mike Gibson of Burlington, and his sister, Vicki Burrell of Mesquite, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Keith.
As per his wishes, cremation will be accorded. There will be no services.
