Ruby Eileen Schmeiser, 94, of Burlington, died Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born March 21, 1930 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Clarence and Bertha (Polson) Millizer. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ.

Eileen married Dale Schmeiser Sr. at St. Paul United Church of Christ on June 11, 1950 in Burlington. He died May 18, 1988.

Eileen was a waitress/cashier at the snack bars at Witte Drug Store, K-Mart and Walmart over the years. She was a member of the Eagles Club Ladies Auxiliary and she was very social. Eileen was an avid reader, who loved to socialize and dance, as well as boating on the river.

Survivors include two sons Dale “Butch” (Debbie) Schmeiser Jr of Burlington and Lee “Ed” (Jackie) Schmeiser of Keokuk; one grandson Benjamin (Rocio) Schmeiser of Normal, Illinois; one great granddaughter Natalia Schmeiser and several nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters Doris and Bonnie and one brother Lyman.

The funeral for Eileen will be 2pm Monday, June 10th at Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
