Donna Mae Schrader, 93, of Burlington, died Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born December 24, 1932, in Burlington, she was the daughter of James and Vera Hillyard Wirt. On March 29, 1969, she married William "Bill" Schrader in Kingston, IA. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2010.
Donna worked for many years for Lawyers in Burlington. She even went back to work for them part-time after her retirement.
She was a member of Kingston United Methodist Church. She especially enjoyed playing cards, with Rummikub being a favorite, as well as gardening and picking pecans to use in her cooking and baking. She also had a special love for Elvis Presley and enjoyed collecting Elvis memorabilia. She especially enjoyed getting to meet Elvis while living in Hawaii with her sister.
Survivors include her son, Bryan (Bree) Schrader of Burlington; four grandchildren, Bryce Miller, Kinzie (Grant) Lounsbury, Brandt Schrader, Koy Schrader; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, James "Jimmy" Wirt Jr. and Allan Wirt, and sister, Betty Foley.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2026, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division St. Private family burial will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in rural Sperry.
Memorials have been established for the Mediapolis Ambulance, Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice, and the Kingston United Methodist Church.
