Carroll A. Williams, 83, of Burlington, died Friday, September 2, 2022, at his home.

Born April 10, 1939, in Oakville, Ia. he was the son of Wilber and Mary Heath Williams.

Carroll graduated from Oakville High School and earned his associate's degree at Southeastern Community College. He served in the United States Army at the beginning of the Vietnam conflict.

On December 9, 1966, Carroll married Marjorie Zippe in Burlington.

Carroll was a pilot on tugboats, he worked for Sinclair Petro Chemical (First Miss), Niehaus Motors, and he was the supervisor of the motor pool at I.A.A.P. He retired in 2004.

Carroll was a member of Wapello Masonic Lodge A.F. and A.M. and he was a 32-degree mason. He was also a Shriner. Carroll enjoyed hunting and fishing and working on cars.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; two sons Brian (Patty) Williams of Burlington and Jason (Julie) Williams of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren Breana (Michael) Hawkins, Ben (Lindsey) Lofthus, Erika Lofthus, Ashley Williams, and Garrett Williams; great-grandchildren Sydney, Avery, J.D., Emmlyan, Liam, Adliegh; one sister Lola Yotter of Mediapolis, Ia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one nephew.

The graveside service for Carroll will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery in the veteran’s section.
