
Dorothy G. Wolfe, 89, of Middletown, died Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born January 26, 1933, in Augusta, she was the daughter of Robert and Effie Wills Chesnut. She was a 1951 graduate of Denmark High School. She married Harold Wolfe on June 30, 1951. He preceded her in death December 2, 2005.
Dorothy was a dispatcher for General Electric for 26 years until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of the New London United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed puzzles, embroidery, gardening, tending to her flowers and yard, and traveling.
She is survived by her four children, Roberta (Wesley) Pfadenhauer of West Burlington, Rebecca Hoyt of Middletown, Kathy McClelland of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Robert (Shawn) Wolfe of Alma, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Lorraine) Chesnut of Georgia; brother-in-law Duane Peel of Denmark, sister-in-law Darlene Wolfe, and brother-in-law Jerry Wolfe; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, and one brother.
The funeral service for Mrs. Wolfe will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 2nd at Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Dean Graber will officiate. Interment will be in Long Creek Cemetery, rural Danville. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 at Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
A memorial has been established for the Alzheimer’s Association.
