Carol L. Rose, 75, of Burlington, died Friday, Sept.  20, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born Oct. 28, 1948, in Monmouth, Ill., she was the daughter of Pat and Ethel Erman Sanders Kersey.

She was a 1966 graduate of Burlington High School.

She married Dennis L. Rose on Sept. 10, 1966, at First United Methodist Church in Burlington.

She was a homemaker, wife and mother. She was Seventh Day Adventist.

Carol loved sewing, gardening, reading and was an animal lover. She was the best mom, grandma and great grandma ever.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Denny Rose of Burlington; three children, Angela L. (Stephen – Deceased) DeFosse of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Dawn R. Blake of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Timothy A. (Robin Sandage) Rose of Burlington; nine grandchildren, Amanda Brown of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Nicholas Blake of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Anna Ely of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Shelby DeFosse of Marion, South Carolina, Brooke DeFosse and Brock DeFosse both of Milan, Tennessee and Skylor Rose, Bryce Rose and Brayton Rose all of Burlington; ten great grandchildren, Reagan, Jensen, Layla, Twyla, Saylor, Breckin, Dylan, Harrison, Cain, Jasper, Remy, Sophia and Sebastian and two sisters, Patty Wales of Texas and Fran Thomaston of Burlington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, four sisters, Helen Reid of Burlington, Lorraine Kersey of Burlington, Judith Kersey of Louisville, Kentucky and Shirley Kersey of Monmouth, Illinois, brother Richard Kersey of Monmouth, Illinois and one brother in infancy.

The Graveside Service for Carol L. Rose will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024 at Aspen Grove Cemetery with Mr. Harry Scanlan and Mr. Pat Reid officiating. The Celebration of Carol’s Life will follow at 1 p.m. at the Burlington Moose Lodge,2529 Mt. Pleasant Street, Burlington.

A memorial has been established for the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
