
George Henry Quinn, 76, of Burlington, died Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born February 23, 1946, in Illinois, he was the son of Jesse and Cora Krems Quinn. On November 5, 1990, he married Sarah Zachmeyer in Danville, Ia..
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969. He was a gunner operator on a Hellcat tank.
He was a truck driver for many years, and owned a bar for a few years.
He had a great sense of humor, was a gun enthusiast, and enjoyed fishing. He was a very loving and dedicated grandfather.
Survivors include wife, Sarah Quinn of Burlington, one daughter, Jennifer (Derek) Baker of Burlington; two sons, Richard (Sandy) Quinn of Mediapolis, Ia., and Jamie (Katy) Dowell of Gallatin, Tenn., 10 grandkids, and 6 great grandkids.
He is preceded in death by one daughter and his parents.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A graveside service for George will be at Keokuk National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Burlington Fire Department.
