Patricia Ann Humiston of Burlington and formerly Sperry, died on July 5, 2022, at the age of 79.
She was the daughter of Harold and Hazel (Reed) Bradway and was born in Burlington on October 19, 1942.
She was loved by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Ellen Humiston, her grandchildren, Alisha Humiston (Anthony LoCurto) and Kayla (Sam) Strawhacker, and great-grandchildren, Lucy and Bennett Strawhacker. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Leroy and Paula Bradway, and step children Mike and Rick Humiston and their families.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Rex Humiston, and parents, Harold and Hazel Bradway.
Patricia graduated from Burlington High School in 1960. She married Robert “Rex” Humiston on March 14, 1964, in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2015.
Patricia worked in Food Service for Burlington Community School District for 23 years, retiring June 1998.
Throughout her life, Pat enjoyed camping, square dancing, sewing, baking, reading, spending time with her friends and family, and caring for her home in Dodgeville, Iowa.
She was involved in Bethany Lutheran Church, TOPS, Willing Workers, Old Stone Cemetery Group, and Traveling Tigers Camping Club
The Memorial Service for Pat will be Monday, July 11, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church with Reverend Paul Hermansen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at a later date in Carman Cemetery
A memorial has been established for Bethany Lutheran Church.
According to her wishes cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
