Alyce Marie Edwards, 75, of Burlington, died Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at her home.
She was born Jan. 8, 1948, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of William and Hazel Andrews Childers. She married Keith Chenoweth on Nov. 2, 1968, in Burlington.
Alyce and Keith went on to raise two sons, Brad (Tonya) Chenoweth of Burlington and Mike (Toni) Chenoweth of Mediapolis. They later divorced. Alice then married William “Bill” Edwards on Aug. 9, 1997, in Illinois. They later divorced.
Alyce was a lover of all animals, especially her two cats Mike and Whitey, who were energetic greeters at the Tenderfoot Carpets store. She loved all of her grandchildren; which include Courtney Chenoweth, Mika Chenoweth and Charles Chenoweth and great-grandchildren, Madison, Maxwell and Eleanor.
Alyce loved gardening in her free time, feeding the birds, spending time with friends and family, reading novels and learning about her Lord and Savior. Most of all she LOVED spending time and visiting with her customers at Tenderfoot Carpets.
She is survived by her two sons; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; brother William (Diane) Childers of Omaha, Neb. and sister Sue Farnsworth of Grain Valley, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Kevin Childers.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
