Bonnie Lou Bell, 72, of Burlington, died Dec. 21, 2023 at Addington Place.

Born Nov. 9, 1951, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Walter and Ruth Alderson Giffin. On June 5, 1967, she married Terry “Sticks” Bell in Palmyra, Mo. He died Aug. 20, 2016.

Bonnie was a homemaker. She also worked at Champion, Ace Interprise, and Sutters Drug. She also cleaned houses. Bonnie enjoyed being a member of the Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary #587, VFW Auxiliary, and the Eagles Club. She loved to play bingo. Bonnie was an excellent cook and baker which was enjoyed by many.

Survivors include her son Aaron (Wendy) Bell and daughter Sandra Bell both of Burlington; four grandchildren “The Golden One” Valerie Cosgriff, Mark (Amber) Bell, Dominick Blaufuss, and Corbin “G.J.” Bell; two sisters Phyllis Forsythe of Donnellson and Linda Giffin of Burlington; one brother Rollen “Butch” Giffin of Burlington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, twin sister Connie, and son Mark Bell.

Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.

The memorial service for Bonnie will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26 at Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Alzheimer Association.
