Gregory D Rosenkoetter, 61, formerly of Burlington, died Thursday Dec. 26, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. Born on Oct. 2, 1963, he was the youngest of three sons born to Betty Bonewitz Rosenkoetter and George Donald Rosenkoetter III. As a young child, he enjoyed playing with neighborhood children on the bluffs of the Mississippi River.
Greg graduated from BHS and University of Northern Iowa. He eventually found his passion caring for adults with severe disabilities at Hope Haven’s Ertz Home.
On Nov. 10, 1990, Greg married Vicky Hausner, the love of his life. The happiest days of his life were when they adopted their daughters, Lily and Emma. Greg enjoyed music, reading and playing strategic computer games. Despite chronic kidney issues, Greg maintained a cheery spirit. He will be deeply missed.
Greg is survived by his wife Vicky, his two daughters Lily and Emma of Mesquite, Texas, brother Eric (Ann) Rosenkoetter of Austin, Texas, step-sister Susan (Tom) Stahl of Denver, Colo., eleven nieces and nephews, and ten great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Jack Tod, brother Don Rosenkoetter IV, stepsister Ann Tod Stuart, and beloved grandmother Bonnie Bonewitz.
