David Alan Roelfs, 66, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Mediapolis, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Gifted Hands Hospice Care in Mesa, Ariz. David was born in Urbana, Ill., on November 8, 1959. He was the son of Norman and Lois Roelfs.&nbsp; He graduated from Mediapolis High School in 1978.&nbsp; In 1981, he married Patti Reeb.&nbsp; They later divorced.&nbsp; David worked at United States Gypsum Company (USG) for almost 38 years before retiring in 2015. &nbsp; David is survived by his son, Jordan Roelfs, of Chandler, AZ, his mother, Lois Roelfs, of Mediapolis, IA, his brothers Doug (Denise) Roelfs of Mediapolis, IA, Don (Diane) Roelfs of Yarmouth, IA, and brother-in-law, David Govea of Harlingen, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Roelfs, and sister, Diane Roelfs-Govea.&nbsp; According to his wishes, his body has been cremated, and a private family service will be held at a later date. &nbsp; A memorial has been established for the Mediapolis Public Library.&nbsp;&nbsp;
