Harold Dean Massner

Harold Dean Massner, 88, of Burlington, died Sunday, May 10, 2026, at his home. Born September 4, 1937, in Louisa County, he was the son of Adolph and Rose Reber Massner.  He married Annette Rocke on December 13, 1964.

He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

Harold was a long-time salesman, starting with Super Cross seed corn.  He was a member of Harmony Bible Church.

Because of his success with Super Cross, Harold was able to extensively travel all over the world and make many memories.  He loved his job and the customers he encountered and truly did not know a stranger.  Harold sponsored a Laotian family to come to the United States, and they soon became his family as well. He would share his love of Jesus to all and enjoyed his time spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Annette Massner of Burlington; three children, Corbin (Diane) Massner of Georgia, Crystal (Mitch) Timmerman of Mediapolis and Craig (Elaine) Massner of Naperville, Illinois; six grandchildren, Dillon Timmerman, Ethan (Lily) Timmerman, Tristan Timmerman, Owen Timmerman, Sajan Massner and Sevahn Massner; two great grandchildren, Sydney Day and Adalyn Day; brother Lloyd Massner of Mediapolis; sister Dorothy (Richard) Taeger of Burlington and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Chase Massner, and siblings, Clarence, William, Earl, Eric, Virgil, Adolphus “Doss”, Kenneth, Dale, Allen, and Rosella.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16th at Harmony Bible Church – Burlington Campus.  The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m.  Pastor Nathan Williams will officiate.  The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites. Burial will follow in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
