Teri L. Hummer, 66, of Burlington, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2023 at her home.
Born Aug. 19, 1957, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Bonnie Reid Rich Sr.
Teri graduated from Burlington High School with the class of 1975. On Jan. 12, 1985 she married Ronald Hummer in Burlington. Teri was of the Protestant Faith.
She worked for the Des Moines County Auditor’s office for 10 years. Teri volunteered with the Des Moines County Humane Society, she loved horseback riding and reading.
Survivors include her husband Ronald of Burlington; three children Blake (Lori) Umthun of Des Moines, Brooke (Manuel) Bermudez of California, Grant Hummer of Burlington; one step-son Jody (Yolanda) Hummer of Burlington; six grandchildren Taden, Landen, Anthony, Andrew, Natalie and Jefferey; two step-grandchildren Jeana and Damien; siblings Kenneth Rich Jr of Mt. Union, Marcia (Mort) Gaines of Fairfield, Kelly (Mark) Ripperger of Burlington, Tony (Liz) Rich of Burlington and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-son Shawn.
Visitation for Teri will be Saturday, Nov. 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Lunning Chapel. A memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date.
A memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.
