Betty Mae Armstrong, 91, of Burlington, died Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Bickford Assisted Living in Burlington.

Born on Dec. 19, 1932, in Oakville, she was the daughter of Harlan and Martha Walberg Swanson. She married Richard H. Armstrong. He preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1981.

Betty was of Christian faith and attended Sunnyside Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling all over the United States going from state to state with her best friend Raymond and her sister Pauline. Betty also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, going out dancing and attending country music shows. Most of all you could always bet that Betty was having fun with her beloved family.

She is survived by her two sons: Michael and Thomas Armstrong; several nieces and nephews and Raymond Cloke who was her partner and best friend since 1985.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, three siblings: Charles and Roger Swanson and Pauline Swanson Kirby.

A graveside service for Betty, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
