Eloise Beckman, 93, of Burlington, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born Dec. 10, 1928, in Flagler, Iowa, she was the daughter of Harry and Rosa Russell. On July 30, 1949, she married Mark Joseph Beckman at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He passed away on Nov. 8, 2016, after 67 years of marriage.
Eloise was a Burlington High School graduate in 1947. She then attended Burlington Business College.
She was employed by the National Research for four years, Burlington Instrument Company for one year, Dane Morgan Architects for two years, Champion Spark Plug Company for ten years, Midwest Manufacturing Company for two years. Eloise then worked for Dr. Bernardo G. and Eliza L. Pineda for over 23 years, she retired in 1995 after the doctors retired. After a year at home, Eloise was employed through Manpower. She enjoyed working part time, at multiple businesses, when temporary help was needed.
Eloise was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish-St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was also a member of Hazel-Mac Dance Troupe from 1944 to 1947.
Survivors include her two nephews, Russell Warner and Larry Russell; and two nieces Sharon Eloise Warner and Mary Ruth Jereb; and special caregiver, Vicki Beckman.
Family will receive friends following a 9:30 a.m. Rosary service until 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26 at Divine Mercy Parish-St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Beckman will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26 at Divine Mercy Parish-St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Fr. Gary Beckman as the Celebrant and the Very Rev. Fr. Marty Goetz as the concelebrant. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the SS Mary and Patrick Catholic Church Parish Center, West Burlington following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Divine Mercy Parish and the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
