
Rodney William Balmer, 65, of Burlington, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, at his home.
Born Feb. 12, 1959, in Fort Madison, he was the son of Rolla William and Joann Grelk Balmer. On April 29, 1977, he married Diana Gibbs at West Hill United Methodist Church.
He retired from 3E as a warehouse supervisor. He also worked for BL Robinson and Miller's.
He liked cars, watching racing, riding motorcycles, watching wrestling and being outdoors. He always enjoyed his daily naps and snacking on potato chips and sweets. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Balmer of Burlington; two daughters, Abby Bowman of Burlington and Heather (Michael) Columbus of Burlington; four grandchildren, Dakota, Reagan, Leona and Alyssa; two great-grandchildren, Stella and Nova; and siblings, Pam Balmer of Burlington, Randy Balmer of Fort Madison, John (Joann) Balmer of Fort Madison, Jim (Teresa) Balmer of Missouri, and Kathy Balmer of Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and several aunts and uncles.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
