Judith Rae Johnson, 64, of Burlington, died Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born Aug. 17, 1959, she was the daughter of Robert Kenneth and Betty Jean Becker McGill. She graduated from Mediapolis High School. She married Jeff Johnson in Gladstone, Ill. They later divorced.
Judy was a full-time receptionist at Rock Valley Physical Therapy and worked at Deery Brothers as a night receptionist. Judy was a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan. She had a quick wit and offered unfiltered comments. She loved her three cats, friends and her family.
Survivors include her children Dustin (Jessica) Johnson and Samantha Johnson both of Burlington; two grandchildren Tyler and Jaidin; sister Diane (John) Boyd of Burlington; brother Daryl (Metta) McGill of Huxley, Iowa; nephew Matthew Wood of Burlington, niece Brandi Shaw of Burlington, nephew Zach Boyd of Burlington, niece Katie Boyd of Mediapolis, nephew Ethan McGill of Huxley and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew Jacob Boyd.
Judy was an organ donor and will continue to give the gift of life to countless others through her generous donation. Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
The visitation for Judy will be 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 24 at Lunning Chapel followed by the memorial service with Reverend Shane McCampbell officiating. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society for cat medical expenses.
