Saturday, Jan. 4

• Burlington Depot: A History will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the Burlington Public Library. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
• Lunchtime Chamber Music — a special concert featuring violinist Vidya Mullangi and Leigh Pirtle performing works by Bach, Max Bruch, and Debussy — will be at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. Free and open to the public.
• Southeastern Community College Kids Night will be at 7 p.m. inside the SCC gymnasium. Children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade get free admission to the SCC Blackhawks basketball game, and the players will be on hand for autographs.
• Wake N' Bake Day Drunk Drag Brunch at Wake N Bake Breakfast Company. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 and include your meal and a drink.

Monday, Jan. 6

• A screening of the movie “The Lemon Tree” followed by a discussion of Israel and Palestine from noon to 2 p.m at the Burlington Public Library. The discussion will be led by Dr. Joy Lapp, professor of religion at Iowa Wesleyan University in Mount Pleasant.

Wednesday, Jan. 8

• Civic Music presents Fandango! at 7:30 p.m. at the Capitol Theater. Based in Chicago and featuring musicians from Bosnia, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States, Fandango! has been hailed as “the most exciting new group on Chicago’s musical scene.” More information can be found at www.burlcivicmusic.com.

Thursday, Jan. 9

• Lunch at First United Church of Christ. Homemade meatball stroganoff or chicken bacon ranch sandwich, plus two sides, dessert and a beverage for $7. Enjoy fellowship in the social hall or call 319-754-4807 for carryout orders.

Friday, Jan. 10

• Friends of the Library Trivia Night will be at 6:30 p.m. at Burlington Public Library. Up to eight people per team. The cost is $12.50 per person, and there will be a bonus prize for the best table decoration. Register your team by calling (319) 753-1647.
• Full Moon Hike at 6:30 p.m. at Starr’s Cave Nature Center. Plan for a 3-mile hike and dress for the weather.
• Jerad and Nathan from Stumptown will play at 7 p.m. at Wake n' Bake Breakfast Company.
