Peggy Diane Johnson, 76, of West Burlington, died Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Oak View Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 5, 1949, in Amarillo, TX, the daughter of Helen Carr. On Nov. 21, 1970, she married Fred Johnson in Mt. Pleasant.
Peggy worked for many years as a dental assistant for Dr. Larry Brunk. She retired from Burlington Area Family Practice in 2017.
Peggy loved spending time with her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always filled the room with laughter. Peggy enjoyed playing endless games of UNO at family holidays and always had the most creative way to make you feel special on your birthday.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Scott Johnson of Peoria, IL and Corey (Joanna) Johnson of North Liberty, IA; two grandchildren, Madelyn Johnson and Marissa Johnson; step-father, Frank Carr of Virginia Beach, VA; one sister, Ann (Greg) Johnson of Wapello, IA; one brother, Ron (Annie) Beams of Missouri; as well as her nieces.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Helen Carr, and one sister, Sharon VanBalle.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Monday, May 18, 2026, at Prugh Funeral Service 3940 Division St.
The memorial service for Mrs. Johnson will be 2:00 PM Monday, May 18, 2026, at Prugh Funeral Service. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa.
