Lonnie Eugene Lewis of Dallas City, Ill. died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at his home. He was born Feb. 14, 1949, in Monmouth, Ill., the son of Everette Eugene and Jane Cordelia Lewis. He only has one surviving child, Bobbie, but he had lots of grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

He was known to be an extremely hard worker who never left something half-done. He was an adamant animal lover who was particularly fond of pugs and went on to start The Good Shepard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Glenda and Rose, his brother Ron, his niece, Tiffany, and his daughter Crystal.

He is survived by his son Robert Lee Lewis of Oakville, his grandchildren, Jeremy, Dakota, Leigha, and Ricky, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to Banks &amp; Beals Funeral Home. A service will be held at the Oakville Community Center, 104 East Ash Street, Oakville, on Dec. 2, 2023, at 10 a.m.

The family requests that flowers be sent to the Oakville Community Center and that donations be made to PAWS animal shelter in Fort Madison.&nbsp;
