Amy Marcella Ferris, 99, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021 at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Burlington.
Born June 23, 1922, in Waukon, Iowa, she was the daughter of Henry and Ida Mabelstead Olson.
Amy graduated from Waterville High School in Waterville, Iowa. She was of the Lutheran faith.
On Nov. 15, 1941, Amy married Lloyd Johnson. He died March 7, 1988. On Dec. 22, 1956, she married Oscar Ferris who also preceded her in death.
Amy worked for the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Sylvania, and as a nurse’s aide at Burlington Medical Center on the Mercy Unit.
Survivors include her daughter Linda Lee Durfee of Cave Springs, Ark.; four
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service for Amy will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27 at Oakland Cemetery,
Fort Madison with the Reverend David Mixon officiating.
A memorial has been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.
