John Everett Graham, 78, of Burlington, died on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, at his home.
Born on March 9, 1945, in LaHarpe, Ill., he was the son of Clarence A. and Ruth M. Waterman Graham. On May 17, 1963, he married Tina Marie Schoenewe in Burlington. Together they celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary last May.
John worked for Klein Manufacturing for 35 years until they closed, he then went to work for Champion Spark Plug where he retired from. He was a former leader of Flint River Bow Club and was a representative for the UAW union. John loved to hunt rabbit, squirrel but especially loved hunting duck and deer. He was looking forward to this year’s opening deer season. John was a talented man with carpentry, redoing his entire house and woodwork. There were three holidays that he looked forward to, the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. He absolutely loved these three holidays because he spent them with the ones he loved most, his family.
Survivors include his wife, Tina; children: Kevin (Brenda) Graham, Johnny (Dawn) Graham, Tonya (Brad) Chenoweth, Julia Graham all of Burlington, and Jeff (Judy) Graham of Morganton, N.C.; nine grandchildren: Cody, Hillary, Brittney, Tyler, Jared, Jacob, Hailey, Katie and Noah and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
Per his wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Funeral Home and no services will be held.
