Harold Richard Finke, 83, of Burlington, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born Oct. 9, 1940, in Burlington, he was the son of Willett L. and Esther E. Schulz Finke. On April 4, 1981, he married Janice Coleen Bowerbank in Burlington.
He graduated from Danville High School in 1959. Harold served his country in the United States Army National Guard for six years. He worked for Ideal Concrete for 28 years.
He was a member of Harmony Bible Church in Danville. Harold loved ministry and always enjoyed making his custom thank you cards for friends and family that always included a Bible verse on them. He enjoyed taking care of his yard, mowing, and doing projects on his house.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Coleen Finke of Burlington; four children, Craig Eugene Bowerbank of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Brian Dean (Amy) Bowerbank of Zionsville, Ind., Darla Janeen (Roy) Cochenour of Danville, Beverly (Ron) Vorwerk of Sperry; six grandchildren, Joshua Bowerbank, Katie (Zach) Foster, Trevor Bowerbank, Daniel Vorwerk, Benjamin (Zoe) Vorwerk, Sarah (Caleb) Siegle; two great-grandchildren, Jayden Bowerbank and Penelope Vorwerk; brother, Devin (Kristin) Finke of Danville; and two sisters, Barb (Lucky) Burrell of Middletown and Eileen (JK) Smith of Burlington.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
There will be no visitation or services.
