James Scott Sandy, 59, of Burlington, died Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at his home.

Born November 8, 1962, in Burlington, he was the son of Larry Laverne and Sandra Kay Gibbs Sandy. He married Renee Lynn Clark on Christmas in Las Vegas, Nev. From this union two sons were born, Garrett and Grant. They later divorced.

He was a graduate of West Burlington High School. James worked for Exide for over ten years and later as a custodian for SCC for many years.

James was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, flying drones, photography, and listening to music. He loved animals, especially his dog, Meka.

Survivors include his son, Grant Sandy; and brother, Jeffery Sandy, both of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Garrett James Sandy, and his former wife, Renee Sandy.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
